I’ve been spending all my time Smoking cigarettes and rhymes Trying to find the words to say But words get in the way I’m doing fine This town don’t feel the same Blue lights and yellow flames When the bullet leaves the gun You better run But which way Like a frozen river flows Wild waters lie below If you listen to the ice You can hear it crack at night This towns gonna blow Blue lights and yellow flames You can’t comprehend the pain It’s been hanging in the air You can’t touch it but it’s there Until it takes someone you care for Feel the thunder and the rain Blue lights and yellow flame And it’s happening again
2.
I left home when i was young, headed out to chase the sun A guitar was the only thing worth owning Took a greyhound bus out west, loved the rocky mountains best Any way the wind is blowin’ I couldn’t help it if I tried, it’s a feeling deep inside I never know just where I’m going As a tree leans to the sun, so I ramble so I run I let go and stopped controllin Any way the wind is blowin’ I’ve lost along the way and I’ve many debts to pay But like the river, I keep on flowin’ When there's nothing left to hold and the night is growin’ cold I learned to trust the way the wind is blowin’ Life’s a funny game, we all win or lose the same Do I deserve the lovin’ that your showin’ I’ll be there when your down, help you haul your blues around Take my hand and let’s get goin’ Any way the wind is blowin’ Take off your disguise, close your weary eyes And you will see that everything is growing In the deluge of a storm, a desert bloom is born See the thunderheads a rollin’ Any way the wind is blowin’
3.
At the edge of the end, the money’s all gone Nothing is real, and everythings wrong The scene is set, there is time yet To make a change At the edge of the end, a rainbow shines There ain’t a flood, but a fire this time The west is burning, the stage is turning And we’re drifting on At the edge of the end, you’ve come so far Wherever you go, there you are The same sun rising, there's no running there's no hiding At the end, where it all began

about

Minneapolis, MN based folk singer-songwriter Jack Klatt delivers a 3-track EP, Edge of the End, inspired by a period of self-reflection during major global events. Written in Marfa, TX and recorded in Nashville, TN, Klatt tells stories of his ramblin’ days as a young man through an upbeat, feel-good track, but also slows down the pace with mellower songs that reflected upon the pain and anger felt in the city after the murder of George Floyd, and the feelings that came with the hope of playing music in front of a live audience again 2 years being homebound during the pandemic.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Alabama Shakes “Boys and Girls” producer Andrija Tokic, this collection of songs showcases strings and fiddle from Billy Contreras, and features guest musicians Jack Lawrence, John James Tourville, Alex Hall, Kyshona Armstrong, Maureen Murphy, Nickie Conley, and Dennis Crouch.
